Judging Criteria Entries will be evaluated by the RateMy.CV career review panel using the following weighted criteria: | Criterion | Weight | Description | |-----------|--------|-------------| | Resume Quality | 40% | Structure, formatting, ATS compatibility, use of action verbs, quantified accomplishments, clarity, and overall professionalism | | Career Goals Statement | 30% | Specificity, thoughtfulness, self-awareness, realism, and quality of writing | | Improvement Demonstrated | 20% | Evidence of resume improvement (via multiple scan scores, before/after versions, or demonstrated knowledge of resume best practices) | | Presentation | 10% | Completeness of application, professional formatting, and overall polish | Judging will take place between July 16 and July 31, 2026. All judging decisions are final and not subject to appeal. ## 8. Winner Selection and Notification - **One (1) winner** will be selected for the Summer 2026 edition based on the highest combined score across all judging criteria - The winner will be notified via the .edu email address provided in their entry within 5 business days of the judging period ending - The winner must respond to the notification email within 14 days to claim the prize. Failure to respond within 14 days will result in forfeiture of the prize, and an alternate winner may be selected - The winner's first name, last initial, and university name may be published on the RateMy.CV website and social media channels ## 9. Prize - **Summer 2026:** One (1) prize of $100.00 USD - Prize will be delivered via the winner's choice of: PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or direct bank transfer - Prize will be disbursed within 15 business days of winner confirmation - Prize is awarded as-is. No substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent (other than the stated cash prize) is permitted - The winner is solely responsible for any taxes, fees, or other obligations arising from receipt of the prize - Sponsor will issue appropriate tax documentation (e.g., IRS Form 1099) if required by applicable law ## 10. Intellectual Property and Content Rights - Entrants retain full ownership of their resume and career goals statement - By entering, entrants grant the Sponsor a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use **anonymized, aggregated data** derived from submissions for educational and marketing purposes, including blog articles, reports, and social media content - **No personally identifiable information** (name, email, university, or specific resume content that could identify an individual) will be published without the entrant's explicit written consent - The Sponsor will not sell, share, or distribute entrants' personal information to third parties ## 11. Privacy - Personal information collected through this Contest will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Contest, contacting the winner, and delivering the prize - Email addresses may be used to send Contest-related communications (entry confirmation, winner announcement). Entrants will not be added to marketing email lists without separate opt-in consent - The Sponsor's general privacy policy is available at [https://ratemy.cv/privacy/](/privacy/) - The Sponsor complies with applicable data protection laws including FERPA (regarding student educational records) and COPPA (the Contest is limited to individuals 18+) ## 12. Limitation of Liability - The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or illegible entries - The Sponsor is not responsible for technical failures, errors, or interruptions that may affect entry submission or judging - By entering, entrants release the Sponsor from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising from participation in the Contest or receipt of the prize - The Sponsor's total liability in connection with this Contest shall not exceed the stated prize amount ($100 USD for Summer 2026) ## 13. Modification and Cancellation The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the Contest at any time if fraud, technical issues, or any other factor beyond the Sponsor's control compromises the integrity or proper administration of the Contest. In such event, the Sponsor may select the winner from eligible entries received prior to the cancellation. ## 14. Disputes - These terms shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles - Any disputes arising from or relating to this Contest shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association - Entrants waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration ## 15. These Official Rules govern the **RateMy.CV National Resume Improvement Scholarship** (the "Contest"). By submitting an entry, you agree to be bound by these terms. ## 1. Sponsor The Contest is sponsored by RateMy.CV, operated by Foreverburgh, LLC ("Sponsor"). The Sponsor's website is [https://ratemy.cv](https://ratemy.cv). ## 2. Contest Type This Contest is a **skill-based competition**. Winners are selected based on merit using predetermined judging criteria. No element of chance is involved in the selection of winners. This Contest is NOT a sweepstakes, lottery, or game of chance. ## 3. No Purchase Necessary **No purchase, payment, or use of any product or service is required to enter or win.** Use of the ratemy.cv website, scanner tool, or any paid service is entirely optional and does not affect an entrant's chances of winning. A purchase or use of the ratemy.cv tool will not improve an entrant's chances of winning. ## 4. Eligibility The Contest is open to individuals who, at the time of entry, meet ALL of the following requirements: - Are 18 years of age or older - Are currently enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university (undergraduate or graduate program) - Have a valid .edu email address (or verifiable international university email equivalent) - Are legal residents of any country where participation in skill-based contests is permitted The following individuals are NOT eligible: - Employees, contractors, officers, and directors of RateMy.CV and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling) - Individuals residing in jurisdictions where this type of contest is prohibited by law ## 5. Entry Period **Summer 2026 Edition:** - Entry period opens: May 15, 2026, at 12:00 AM Eastern Time (ET) - Entry period closes: July 15, 2026, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time (ET) - Late entries will not be accepted The Sponsor reserves the right to announce additional contest periods (e.g., Fall 2026 edition) under separate or amended rules. ## 6. How to Enter To enter, submit the following materials via email to **[email protected]** before the entry deadline: 1. **Your resume** in PDF format 2. **A career goals statement** (200-500 words) describing your career goals, target role after graduation, and how resume quality supports your job search 3. **Your full legal name** 4. **Your .edu email address** (entries must be sent from or include a valid .edu address) 5. **Your university name and expected graduation year** 6. **Optional:** A screenshot of your RateMy.CV scan score, if you chose to use the free scanning tool **Entry limits:** One (1) entry per person.
